ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE
Dosage
Adults, children aged 12 years and over and
elderly:
1 - 2 caplets up to 4 times a day.
These doses should not be repeated more frequently than
every four hours. Maximum daily dose: 8 caplets in 24
hours. Do not take continuously for more than 7 days
without medical advice.
Children below 12 years: Not recommended.
Administration
Oral administration only. Do not exceed the stated dose.
Should not be used with other paracetamol-containing
products, decongestants or cold and flu medicines.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
This product is contraindicated in patients:
With concomitant use of other sympathomimetic
decongestants; phaeochromocytoma or closed angle glaucoma.
Known hypersensitivity to paracetamol or any of the other
constituents.
Having hepatic or severe renal impairment; hypertension;
hyperthyroidism, diabetes or heart disease.
Taking tricyclic antidepressants, or beta-blocking drugs
and who are taking or who have taken within the last two
weeks monoamine oxidase inhibitors.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
Care is advised in the administration of paracetamol to
patients with severe renal or severe hepatic impairment.
The hazard of overdose is greater in those with
non-cirrhotic alcoholic liver disease.
Medical advice should be sought before using this product
in patients with these conditions: cardiovascular disease,
an enlargement of the prostate gland, occlusive vascular
disease (e.g. Raynaud's phenomenon).
This product should not be used by patients taking other
sympathomimetics (such as decongestants, appetite
suppressants and amphetamine-like psychostimulants).
Excessive intake of caffeine (e.g. coffee, tea and some
canned drinks) should be avoided while taking this
product. Do not take with other flu, cold or decongestant
products or with any other paracetamol-containing
products. Do not exceed the stated dose.
Consult your doctor if you are taking warfarin.
If symptoms persist consult your doctor. Keep out of the
reach and sight of children.
PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Pregnancy: This product is not recommended for use in
pregnancy due to the phenylephrine and caffeine content.
There is a potential increased risk of lower birth weight
and spontaneous abortion associated with caffeine
consumption during pregnancy. Human and animal studies
with paracetamol have not identified any risk to
paracetamol in pregnancy or embryo-foetal development.
Lactation: This product should not be used while
breast-feeding without medical advice.
Caffeine in breast milk may have a stimulating effect on
breast-fed infants but significant toxicity has not been
observed. Phenylephrine may be excreted in breast milk.
Human studies with paracetamol at the recommended dosed
have not identified any risk to lactation or the breastfed
offspring.
SHELF-LIFE
36 months from the manufacturing date. Do not use after
the expiry date.
