DOSAGE
Adults: 1 effervescent tablet daily.
ADMINISTRATION
BOSTON C 1000 is administered orally. Dissolve the
effervescent tablet in half a glass of water.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to any the ingredients of drug.
Renal stones.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
Because of a slight stimulating effect, it is preferable
not to take ascorbic acid after the evening.
A varied food intake usually provides the body’s vitamin
requirements.
This medicine contains 256.46 mg sodium per effervescent
tablet which must be taken into account in patients
following a strict low-salt diet.
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with
disorders of iron metabolism, predisposition to urolith or
renolith formation and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase
deficiency.
INTERACTIONS
At high doses (more than 2 g daily) ascorbic acid may
interfere with the following laboratory tests: Assay of
creatinine and glucose, blood and urine (diabetes tests
using glucose-oxidase tab).
PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Pregnancy
Ascorbic acid passes from maternal to fetal blood via an
active transport mechanism. This drug is to be used during
pregnancy only on the advice of your doctor.
Lactation
Ascorbic acid is excreted into human breast milk. Use of
high doses of ascorbic acid should be avoided when
breast-feeding.
SHELF-LIFE
36 months from the manufacturing date. Do not use after
the expiry date.
